Accessing Microsoft Apps 

1. Open your browser of choice and login to your Microsoft Account using your UofT credentials (via UTORid login). (Often the easiest way to access this is by logging into your UofT email.) 

2. From any of the pages (your Outlook, SharePoint, or other Microsoft App), select the waffle at the top left of your screen and navigate to the More apps option.

   

3. Your landing page might look something like below. Click on the All Apps → tab to explore more of the apps available to you.

   

4. You'll now find more apps, products, and services available to you. In this section, navigate to Power BI, which will now bring you to the Power BI Service Homepage.

   

    

Getting Power BI Downloaded & Installed

1. Once you have the Power BI Service Homepage open, navigate to the top right of the screen, where you'll find the download button available. This will open a drop-down menu - select the Power BI Desktop option. This will open the Microsoft Store.

   

    

2. If you are prompted to Open Microsoft Store, allow it and the Microsoft Store application will open.

3. In the Microsoft Store, click on Get and the application will begin downloading to your device.

   

    

Logging into Power BI Desktop

1. Open the newly installed Power BI Desktop app. The splash page will allow you to sign-in. Use your UofT email address, which will prompt you to use your UTORid credentials again.

2. There may be a few steps of registering your account with the app. Once it has initialized, you are all set to use Power BI Desktop!
