The Map & Data Llibrary supports research at U of T in several ways. We build extensive collections of geospatial data, numeric data, maps & atlases and air photos. We advise & assist the research community on locating existing data, collecting your own data, and using GIS and statistical software. To this end, we create online tutorials and run regular workshops.
We are also researchers and research collaborators, with our staff involved in a wide range of research projects. We have a particular focus on historical GIS & data projects, building new digital datasets from the library's historic print collections. Another area of interest is supporting the visualization and communication of data and information.
We encourage you to get in touch with us to request an appointment for support, or drop in during our open hours.
