This document provides a statistical overview of corrections and conditional release within a context of trends in crime and criminal justice. A primary consideration in producing this overview was to present general statistical information in a “user friendly” way that will facilitate understanding by a broad audience. 

This collection of documents contains summary statistics on corrections, facilities, costs, employees, offender population, rights and grievances, community corrections, etc. and research briefs, reports and related publications. Major focus is on latest available statistics with little historical coverage. These are available in HTML and PDF format.

This collection contains information on offences, prosecution, sentences and probation for years ranging from 1977 to 1996. The product also contains various population and demographic statistics. The statistical files are available in Beyond 20/20 format and the documentation files are in PDF. 

This contains percentage of voter turnout by election years for Canada and provinces for the period 1867 to latest.

Between 1957 and 1991 the Alberta Research Council collected a significant amount of meteorological data in Central Alberta. This research involved the collection of information about hail and rainfall; data collected as a result of cloud seeding experiments; and a variety of radar data collected via airplane and ground radar centres.In the 1990's, the data was identified as being at risk of becoming unusable.

The projections issued on a regular basis ensure methodologically and numerically consistent and comparable population projections at the national and provincial/territorial level. Recently released projections are available via ODESI while older versions are available on CD-ROM at the Map & Data Library. Statistics Canada publication number 91-520.

Contains data on facility-reported information on pollutant releases and transfers and air pollutant emission summaries and trends. Includes on-site and off-site releases in Canada, by industrial sector, and releases of NPRI-listed CEPA-toxic and carcinogenic pollutants, as well as recovery, re-use and recycling (3Rs), and energy recovery in Canada. The data can be searched by company/facility name or FSA. Summary tables are available for download. The data is on annual basis and range from 1993 to latest. 

Life tables comprising life expectancy and related estimates by age and sex for Canada, the provinces and the combined territories. Detailed estimates (by single year of age) have been produced for Canada and all of the provinces, except PEI. Abridged estimates (by five-year age group) have been produced for PEI and the combined territories (Yukon, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories combined). Life tables for the first year of life have been produced separately, by sex, for Canada as a whole.
