From readme.txt file: The data provided in this package was created as an input to the Wind Resource Atlas, a web mapping application for helping users determine the feasibility of developing in wind power. This package contains GIS data that is displayed in the Wind Resource Atlas. There are 10 ASCII grids that provide wind speed and wind power measurements at various heights (10m, 30m, 50m, 80m, and 100m) above ground level. There are also ESRI point shapefiles that contain temporal information (monthly, yearly, extreme months and inter annually) and wind rose information. All data in this package is in Geographic, Decimal Degrees, Nad 83 CNT.
