Dave Leip's atlas of U.S. presidential elections

The Atlas is a free internet resource providing results of U.S. Presidential Elections to the world community. Data is collected from many official sources and presented in one convenient location. Includes county-level election results. 1789 to latest. State, county, and town-level FIPS codes are available, some for purchase: high-level data and maps (state, national) as well as the county and congressional-district maps are free.
