The Map & Data Library has launched new support for a qualitative data analysis tool called MAXQDA. If you're familiar with NVivo, this is an excellent alternative to consider.

MAXQDA provides all the functionality you expect, such as importing a wide range of document types, coding, writing memos, running queries, and exporting information, similar to NVivo, but its strengths are in its intuitive, colourful interface, and its unique visualization and query options.

The Map & Data Library is providing access to MAXQDA through Robarts Library's 4th floor computer lab and offering a brand new, 2-part workshop to get you up to speed with the tool (along with written tutorials). In addition, we provide advice for those who want to move their existing NVivo projects from NVivo to MAXQDA.

If you want to learn what MAXQDA has to offer, we invite you to join some of our upcoming October workshops:

We will be recording the online workshops this term, and offering the recordings on our new MAXQDA guide, once they are ready.

The Map & Data Library will continue to offer support for NVivo as well, but now you have more options to consider!
